Landcare Research, AUCKLAND, New Zealand

I am interested in understanding how evolutionary forces and population dynamics shape genetic variation within natural populations, with a focus on conservation. My work has a strong applied ethic, combines molecular genetic techniques with statistical population genetics at both the genetic and genomic levels, and has focused on various animal groups. I currently work for Landcare Research, a Crown Research Institute in NZ whose core objective is the preservation of NZ's terrestrial biodiversity, and recently I have taken up a post at University of Western Australia to work for the Threatened Species Recovery Hub of the National Environmental Science Programme.
