About:

The bus will leave at 8:50am from the PCEC to head off to Yanchep National Park. On arrival tour guides from the park will take you on a tour of the Crystal Cave. See Perth’s only tourist cave on a 45-minute guided tour and experience an underground wonderland full of natural cave decorations such as stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, columns and shawls. The cave’s constant temperature makes this tour a comfortable all-year round experience.

The next tour for this field trip is an Aboriginal cultural experience. Enjoy an entertaining and informative 45-minute session that will immerse you in local Nyoongar culture. Learn about the world’s oldest living culture, experience didgeridoo playing and find out the significance of plants and animals to the custodians of this area.

Next on the itinerary is a walk around the park including the koala viewing area. You can view the koalas from the raised boardwalk; an opportunity to see and photograph one of Australia’s most iconic. Although not native to Western Australia, Yanchep has been home to a colony of Koalas since 1938. Native western grey kangaroos are often seen grazing on the lakeside lawns, and the Park is home to an array of native birdlife, including large flocks of the the iconic Carnaby’s black cockatoo.

For lunch a light platter buffet will be served to delegates at the Yanchep Inn. From the Yanchep Inn you will be able to take in the beautiful views of the park.
The field trip will conclude at 2:30pm where the bus will then drop you back at the PCEC.

Please note you must be pre-registered and paid for this tour to be able to attend.
